Black Tie Dinner Updates
This years dinner by most account was a success.
Highlights
We were above 200 attendees for the first time since the Covid era.
Father Jack was recognized on his retirement.
Tom Coyne was an outstanding speaker, great storyteller and funny.
Terry Sawyer brought the Loyola alum and gave a great speech.
Opportunities for improvement
Some tables experienced a long delay before being served
Inflation continues to eat into our ability to raise funds. The lodge has raised their prices the last two years. Audio Visual and catering prices went up significantly
Talking Points
Do we move the event to a more reasonable fee. Last years fee was $4000?
Do we move the date that doesn’t conflict with spring break or many members and past attendees are still in Florida or other southern destinations?
Do we reimagine the whole fund raising effort. This dinner is a lot of work for only raising north of 8K?
Membership
73 currently paid members. Agree that invoicing in late November will help due to members ability to make donations before year end.
Most memberships are at issue due to incorrect contact information
We are putting together a membership committee to scrub our list (Joe Dougherty volunteered)
Website
Still working on a membership portal which will be password protected.

Succession Plans
Need board members for next year. Open positions will be the secretary, membership, black tie planning and 2nd vice president
Agreed needing a membership committee with specific roles.
